This is from a collection of paintings that I have done over the years to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research. I have taken up painting since I retired having spent my working life in the computer industry. I use watercolours, oils and pen and ink and also digital art using a graphics tablet and Apple Mac. Other pictures are on my facebook page at Paintings for Macmillan. This watercolour painting was created using Digital art.

Title or Location: Rained Off
This painting was inspired by a photo given to me by a friend. It features two mates who had planned a day out at a cricket match. Unfortunately the great British weather had other ideas and rain stopped play. Bill and Dave walk the wet, cobblestones back alleys of Manchester in search of the nearest pub to drown their sorrows.

The original sketch for this was sent out to members of the Let's Make Art group for Mother's Day. I painted my version using paints made by a small business in Colorado called Ruby Mountain Paint Co. For years I had been searching for the perfect pink paint for flowers, and finally found it!

I call this Patsy In the Pasture. The location is on a ranch in Fort Bend County, Texas This is an 8x8 watercolor on 100 cotton, cold press.

This was simply for fun and therapy. A combination of white space, line and wash and abstract watercolour inspired by a line drawing by Anna Mason, Nature Studio . . . I often do my painting, as I did here, when I?m feeling down and it always, without fail, lifts my spirits . . .
